Thursday, im gonna try to go see one of my favorite authors Bernice McFadden. not only is she a good author, but she is a very beautiful sista inside and out. she and i have traded emails and the occasional phone call for the past 6 years. we didnt MEET until she came to St.Louis for a book signing about two years ago (i felt like her PR persong trying to get someone to bring her to St.Louis)and i beamed with pride as she worked the crowd.
Whats really funny is that we first made contact on Black Planet(dont laugh) ...where i had started a book group. Bernice hit me tellin me about her book "Sugar" and im thinking, "what REAL author is on Black Planet"! so i read "Sugar" and dug the book. i got everyone and their mama to read the book. i was stopping people at book stores telling them to pick "Sugar" up because its REALLY that good. Seven books later (five written under Bernice McFadden and two written under Geneva Holliday)our friendship is going strong.

see, i knew i liked u for a reason...i literally cried reading sugar and this bitter earth...i wasn't aware of her aka, so i will picking those up as well....
