Monday, went to the 'ghetto poetry spot".....and nothing changed. the host still cursed while poppin gum. the dj still played the music to loud. and the poetry was still....umm, interesting. i wont say too much negative about the poetry because two brothers did pieces about being drug free....respect for that....one brother was 10 years free! then there was another brother who couldnt remember his pieces (i know THAT feeling too well)but he gets respect for staying with it.
My cousin Stephanie is improving more everyday...that im soooo happy for. this past weekend, she got to see her kids.....YAY! My aunt reports that she is talking about a storm and complaining...so, she IS getting better....lol. i wonder if anyone has shown her the poem?
Slam season starts Wed (yesterday) and i havent written a new piece. im excited about the season starting...maybe it will inspire me to write. I have pieces running through my head but i havent been moved to write.
Friday, Taalam Acey will be coming into to town. the brother and i vibed last time he was here so, it will be good to listen to him again. i dont know who tours the hardest; Taalam or Marc Marcel...but i dig both the brothers.

ehgi think it's wonderful that you have patience with these poets. its too often that i see the more established writers look chastisingly at newer voices. its soooo hard to stand exposed and the attitude you emit is what poetry needs. thanks for checking me out. i love you're writing and i'll definately be back.
p.s. paramahanda yogananda is a yogi that offers guidance in kriya meditation and brought the philosophy to western civilization in the early 1900's

shyt, from what i can tell they both hit the road like their names are damn "pat and turner..." one foot pats the ground, while the other foot turns the corner! LOL! :-P
So glad you are getting out there again, sometimes, you gotta soak in whats available, maybe you are suppossed to help it...never knowww. :P
I was sad Talaam didnt make it out here in time. I am glad tho that he is comin back.
And you aint lyin about him and Marc Marcel. I have somehow lost on of my Marc cd's and I am about to cry about it. LOL
