the bad:
turkey day sucked...spent the day alone. mom was in chicago and pops was in southern ill. while i got to spend the day watching tv and playing on the internet.
once again the weather has bitch slapped St.Louis and its surrounding cities. if you remember during the summer, a thunder, high wind, lighting and rain storm rolled through in August and knocked the power out for almost a week.....well this time, it was a sleet and snow storm that did us in, knocking out power fo the next four days! Now, i can sweat it out in the heat for a couple of days BUT a brother cant do the cold! i would cuddle up with a neo nazi, a klansman and skinhead to keep warm.
i was ok with a storm knocking out power once this year but twice is too much for people to take. in my 37 years of living, i have never had this happen in one year. this has to be taking a toll on people because its taking a toll on me. my parents had to take refuge in Chesterfield which is 30 minutest away because there were no rooms close to the house.
i havent finished a poem
the good:
my daughter, Courtney, is on the step team at her school. and they had a competition this past Monday and came in second. their competition were collage age girls who didnt stand a chance! did i mention that Courtney is in middle school? so a big YAY to her and the whole team!
my cousin, Stephanie, went home for Turkey day and this week, she went home for good. my mother took pictures of Stephanie while in Chicago and she is still beautiful but one could see somethings not right. im sure all that will change over time....its just good that my cousin is at home with her family!
i finally got my wireless internet card through Sprint. no more waiting for the neighbor to get on line or riding to the local coffee shop to get a connection. the card has unlimited usage so i can get on anytime that i want! also, im getting most of the money spent on the card BACK in rebates! besides, iwas getting tired of updating this blog from on the SECOND laptop.....lol.
im writing....slowly.
well, thats it. i hope that things are going well with all of you.

hey Copa. Glad to see you're back. Not to worry on the bad...at least you're still alive and will be able to (or at least try to) tough it out. Think Katrina and you'll see it's not so bad. (smile) I'm sure it sucked to be alone on Thanksgiving, but you know someone; somewhere was thinking about you.
Great news on your daugher and your cousin. I'm sure each of those things are reasons to be cheerful.
God bless and be well. Oh, and if you want an additional smile, check out my post from a few days ago, you're inlcuded.
