Im always looking for something good to listen too. so, while playing around in the Zune Social forum, i noticed how people kept raved about a hip-hop group called, The Cool Kids. now, im no spring chicken and im not looking to keep up with the youngins but....when something creates a buzz, i have to looking into it. so, i did a little research hoping not to find, yet another, rap group talking about slinging this, stacking that or doing some dumb ass dance. instead, i found some cats, who's sound took me back to my youth.
when hip-hop beats where made in basements using 808 machine and recorded to a cassette deck. the mic, the mic was whatever Radio Shack had on sale at the moment. there was a metal hanger covered by a stocking used to seperate the mc from the mic.....it almost seems as if you can hear someones mother in the background telling them to; 'turn that damn music down!' damn, those were the days!
well, let me introduce you to the group that will be blazing in the summer of 08. im so diggin these young cats.....they have an unofficial EP cd, Totally Flossed Out, with eight tracks on it (Gold and a Pager is my favorite track). the lead single is Black Mags. peep them out their myspace page Go Cool Kids. check out the video for Black Mags below.
Enjoy and let me know what you think.

hmmmm...you REALLY have been on that zune huh? you totally need to be in one of their damn commercials! :-)
You're right, this really does sound "old school". I immediately thought about a few other groups from the 80s after hearing this. I liked not being distracted by the beat cause the lyrics were for crap (nowadays songs) and being able to hear something worth listening to.
Thanks for sharing bruh!
i liiiiiike!!
