im grateful for:

The Creator - allowing me to enjoy another day of LIFE.

Cookie - we are having 'issues' at the moment but she is still my baby.

The Parents - still putting up with me

Concerts - Nice & Smooth and Dres from Blacksheep, showing they aint too old to put on a hot show!! something to be said about old school hip hop!!

Poetry - making the slam team for the second time!! i didnt think it was going to happen but im glad i did....

Poetry - finally putting the words, floating in my mental, to paper. The Kiss poem aka Four White Guys Wearing Grease Paint, has finally been written!

Poetry - Performing the Kiss poem (a freestyle version) at Legacy and having the crowd enjoy it. the outro of the piece, has me singing the song Beth...there were actually people singing along!!

Poetry - im going to start work on a handwritten, ten poem chap book. i hope to have it done by Nationals. im only going to charge $5 for it....

Poets - the beautiful poets from Southern Fried, for lifting my head up when it was down and making new poetic friend. Malik Salaam, is one hell of poet and a cool brother, if he EVER comes to your town....check him out

Soccer - im enjoying watching the UEFA Euro action on Espn. Turkey had its great run ended today by Germany. Turkey made it to the semi-finals by scoring late goals in their first two games....but gave up a late goal to Germany, to end the dream.

Mr Lee aka The Rose Man - this brother was a 'hood' icon in St.Louis...this man went around selling; roses and teddy bears at ALL the clubs in St. Lous...he was always polite, never cause problems and on occasion, gave his items away. so, i was saddened to learn that he had been killed by some young cats, who shot up a club after being kicked out!!! these YOUNG fools, took their revenge out on an innocent bystander....once again, OUR community loses an ELDER and a YOUTH. will this ever stop?

The Youth - keep this in mind when thinking about the current surge of violence amoung young people; THESE ARE THE CRACK BABIES OF THE LATE 80's and 90's, ALL GROWN UP. while the addiction might be gone, we dont know what effect it had on their MENTAL development....
