it has begun...nationals is right around the corner and the butterflies have emerged from their cocoons, spread their wings and taking flight....inside my stomach. after attending three prior nationals, this will be the first time the badge around my neck (or elsewhere)will read 'poet.' thats right, no volunteer status for the kid this year! what REALLY sucks is my 'hangout' time will be limited...im sure we will be practicing when not performing. plus, im gonna miss being with the Neeee Ooooo family and following them around like a groupie!! im still gonna be rooting for them though (gonna wear the ugly people shirt under my other shirts)!!
after attending slams as an indie for so long, its been rough getting used to the team concept. everyone has different idea's for poems, different ways to write, different vocals tones and different styles. yet, we are ALL trying to pull it together to make things work for the team. my big thing is too do what i do and enjoy nationals from the perspective of a competing poet! damn the scores, damn the judges and damn the crowd if they dont feel me....sike, i want them to feel me. if they dont, i will still kick it!!

I'm so proud of you. It will suck to hang out less but it will be amaaaazing to see you on stage. We miss ya too...brang the Lou homie!
